15M long run becomes a painful 13M [09/05/2010]

A gorgeous day. After our long weekend plans to go to Cape Cod were a washed out...literally...but the whimpy hurricane Earl. So I guess the long run plans stayed. Woke up early to head out to the W&OD trail. This time I decided to head out west. 7.5M out and back. The eastward run couple of weeks ago was not the best. Suffered because of the sun blazing down. And I know most part of the westward run was well shaded.
The first half of the run was pleasant. Made decent time. Quite hilly at a few places. Felt good though.
It was during the run back that I started feeling really tired. Tried the power gel at ~8.5M. At 12M the ITBS started. Walked for a couple miles and then ran another. Didn't want to risk it too much. So took it easy after that. Iced and massaged it after I got back home. Hopefully its not going to be too bad. Hopefully its just a passing thing. Hopefully will work on strengthening. :-)
